Artist:Cathy Minerva
Bio: Cathy Minerva is an Atlanta area artist returning to her roots. Prior to establishing her art busines, Cathy spent 12 years as Purchasing Manager for a coat hanger manufacturing company in Texas. After this successful career, she relocated to Georgia to marry her dear husband, Fred. Seeking a change of pace, Cathy enrolled in school and attained her Child Development Associate at the age of 50. This led to a very rewarding position as Curriculum Coordinator in an Atlanta preschool. When family needs called, she retired to care for her Mother in Law who had Alzheimer’s disease. This inspired revitalizing her life long dream to continue in art. Cathy works in a wide range of mediums including encaustic, clay, watercolor, textiles and repurposing items that normally would end up in the trash. Her inspirational muses are music and people. Her commissioned portraits exit from the traditional making her work very unique. This artist is a breath of fresh air in a world of cookie cutter art.

To depict those moments when sleep eludes me, I painted a drowsy woman waiting for sleep. Her focus comes from the addition of a mixed media clock in her chest showing the wee hours of the morning. Very soft pastel colors make this piece peaceful yet with a purpose. This is been sealed however, avoid contact with moisture. Size: 11 X 14 (canvas in water color with painted sides ready to hang) Price: SOLD

This delicated painted mermaid is being washed ashore with her final breath. Far from morbid, this piece exudes a sense of transquil transition. Pale shades of beige and light brown make up the sandy shore with soft blues creating the tide and mermaid. Her peaceful face says it all. Size: 14" x 11" watercolor on canvas framed in spackled light oak. Price: SOLD click images to enlarge
